Ghanaian Student Stranded on Toronto Streets, Appeals for Help from Fellow Ghanaians
A Ghanaian woman, who traveled to Canada for her studies, is now eight months pregnant and homeless in Toronto, desperately seeking assistance from fellow Ghanaians.
According to Maame Pokuah, a Ghanaian living in Toronto who shared her story, the woman had been staying with some church members when she became pregnant. She kept the pregnancy hidden for months, but once it was discovered, the church members asked her to leave, leaving her without a home and stranded on the streets.
Now facing extreme hardship, the woman is struggling with thoughts of suicide as she navigates life on the streets while nearing delivery. She is appealing to Ghanaians, particularly those in Canada, for temporary shelter so she can safely deliver her baby and return to Ghana afterward.
